Who here likes spiders?

In service the other day, I saw this chicken walking along, when all of a sudden, it got close to a hole in the ground and something popped out and scared it away. When I went over to check it out, this is what I found:I persuaded (with a stick) the resident of this hole to come out and say hi.
He even was kind enough to climb up the tree and give me a better photo opportunity.
Think about that as you are drifting off to sleep tonight.

The Convention

Wow, the DC was great!!

I´m sorry that there hasn´t been much to see here on the blog the last little bit, but life has been kinda busy. That and the internet hasn´t been available. It doesn´t work when the power is off, and when the power is on, the center is always full. In order to get on right now, I had to wait 15 minutes.

I started to make a video of things from the convention, but it didn´t go as well as I had hoped. First, I tried to get video of different people, but they all begged me not to film them. Then I tried to just make a video of me talking to the camera, but that didn´t turn out so well either. Chris did promise me though that he is going to tell a story for the camera, about a study at the convention, so hopefully I will get that up eventually. And maybe some video of the furniture he made too, as Bob and Sandy requested.

As for the convention itself, it was very very very good. I am kinda limited in what I can say about it, because the majority of the people reading this have not had their convention yet, and I don´t want to spoil anything. All I can say is "look forward to it." One of the things that was interesting (that doesn´t give away any content at all) is that the symposiums moved really fast, because they were divided into so many different parts. The one had 9 parts!
I know that´s not really that interesting, so if anyone wants something more juicy, such as what is going to be released, you can email me and I will send it to you in an email.

Bye bye for now!

Where you least expect it

The other day I was preaching with the special pioneer brother here in town, in a rather rough section, and we made a return visit on this guy from Haiti. We had quite an interesting conversation. As it turns out, he doesn´t speak any Spanish, but is very well educated. He and the special pioneer converse (if you want to call it that) in English. It is a rather rare thing for me down here to be able to preach in English. As a mater of fact, I spoke to two different Americans this morning, and both were very, very, very not-interested. But here is this Haitian, very humble and willing to learn. We later learned that not only does he know English, but has several certificates in various fields. He is certified to repair cell phones, TVs and computers. He can´t find any work doing that here though, because he is Haitian. So he is looking for work in construction, to see if he can save up enough money to start his own business. Anyway, as we are preaching, the only literature that we have in English is a tract, so there we are, all three of us around this little tract. The two of them are going back and forth, and my main job is to fill in the blanks if somebody doesn´t understand something. Apparently this man has already come to a meeting or two, so we will see whats comes out of it.

We have a storm going on right now down here, and the owner of the internet center wants us all to leave so she can go home.
So until next time,
Stay classy planet Earth

You may be living in the DR. . .

. . .if you and the rest of the brothers get into an argument with a sister at bookstudy.
(she just could not get how the 1000 years work)

. . .if Chris makes furniture thats better then what is in the stores.
(it did turn out nice)

. . .if rats live in your oven.

. . .if you spent 7 hours in a waiting room to spend 5 min. with the doctor.
(don´t worry, I´m fine, I was there for someone else, not me. A story for another time)

. . .if an elder tells you how cheep the rum is here, or complains about no waves for surfing.
(however, I here this happens in other areas as well)

. . .when you can´t post to your blog because there is no power

As you can tell, I´ve had a busy week, and somehow I am behind on my time (by behind I mean on my goal of 100 hours). So on we go. I see that 40 computers have found their way to my blog, for a total of over 200 hits now. So I hope you all are enjoying it. I wish I could post more often, but such is life.

I would like to make my first video soon, to post here, so any requests of what you would like to see are welcome.

Feeling a little craby?

We spent Sunday afternoon doing some spring cleaning and the Kingdom Hall, and found this little guy in the garden. There are crabs everywhere down here, but this ones got a little more to him than normal.
By the time you are reading this, he has probably been made into a nice lunch for some of the local friends.
